Oribe takes a robust and measurable approach to sustainability, balancing performance and luxury with environmental responsibility. While some components, such as replacement bags, are not yet recyclable, the brand is working on improvements in packaging, sourcing, and production.

Goals and metrics

By 2025, Oribe aims for 100% of its plastic packaging to be made from recycled materials, which could save more than 19 tons of virgin plastic per year.

New formulas using biopolymers reduce the use of hot water during rinsing by up to 30%, reducing overall energy consumption.

Ethical standards

Cruelty-Free: Oribe does not test on animals and supports alternative testing methods.
Vegan-friendly: Many products are vegan-friendly, although the brand does not have a vegan certification due to production plant limitations.

Packing

Refill bags: Oribe has introduced 1-liter refill bags that use 71% less single-use plastic than traditional packaging and reduce carbon emissions during transport due to their compact size and local production.
Recyclable materials: Bottles and pumps are made from PCR (post-consumer recycled) plastic or 100% recyclable aluminum. The outer boxes are made of FSC-certified cardboard.
Note: The refill bags themselves are not recyclable due to the multi-layer materials, but Oribe is actively researching more sustainable options.
